2021-2022 Registration Information
As a precursor to registration, the SMHA executive board wanted to reach out to our members to provide some additional information regarding the upcoming 2021/2022 season.  The intention of SMHA is to initiate hockey prior to the end of September with final dates being subject to; date of ice installation, completion of registration, coaching selections, and finalization of ice times with the CDRC.  Prior to registration please review the below list of key changes/policies:

  • COVID Vaccines - OHF/OMHA may elect to make vaccines mandatory in order to participate in organized hockey.  The exact details are not finalized but once they are SMHA will provide details on our website. To be clear, this is not an SMHA driven initiative, this policy has been implemented by OHF and OMHA, and we will need to abide by their decision and protocols.

  • New Registration Platform - The league has elected to implement a new registration format for this season which will require families to create a new login.  Instructions and links to tutorials are provided below;

  • Hockey Format - In accordance with the current Public Emergency Status, SMHA will be able to provide for 5 on 5 hockey.

  • Gate Fees - There will be NO GATE fees this year.  Which means no additional costs for spectators visiting the CDRC or other hockey centers in our loop.

  • Fundraising - SMHA will be bringing back fundraising commitments for each family in the 2021/2022 season.  The maximum commitment from each family will be $200 with the final format of the fundraising will be confirmed at a later date

  • Development - As part of registration, SMHA will be providing a 2 week development period to help our U8-U18 registrants, prepare for tryouts and the 2021/2022 season

  • Try-Outs - Rep and AE hockey will be made available where possible & appropriate.  Tryouts for both Rep and AE will be initiated after the 2 week development period.

  • Families with 3 or more registrants - For families with 3 or more kids registered in SMHA, please contact Becky Cunnington at [email protected]

  • Policies/Waiver - Each family/participant will need to agree to SMHA Policies and Procedures and Waiver prior to participation in the 2021/2022 season.  Updated copies of these documents are available on the SMHA website.

 If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our executive.

We are looking forward to a great 2021/2022 season and seeing everyone at the arena!
