Game Summary: A late game in Collingwood saw our boys come out a little sluggish in the 1st period. Some defensive lapses saw Collingwood take a 1-0 lead, but the boys fought through the fatigue and managed to tie it up at 1-1 with less than 5 seconds to play in the first. A scoreless 2nd period and we found ourselves tied heading into the 3rd. A costly turnover inside our blue line lead to a shot and several rebounds/shots in our den and the Blackhawks took a 2-1 lead. Much like last weekend the boys stayed focused and continued to fight and a great effort by Rope at the end of his shift lead to our 2nd goal. The last few minutes of the 3rd were back and forth but the game ended in a 2-2 tie.
A winnable game for us but with our Captain missing and only managing 8 shots, we had to settle for the tie in this one. We ended our Round Robin with a 3-2-1 record, which is good enough for 3rd place in Pool B and a birth in the Consolation Final against Creemore. We went 1-1 against Creemore in the Round Robin so it should make for an entertaining series. The schedule will be communicated to you once it's finalized.
