Game Summary: A penalty filled game on Saturday (11 penalties called between the 2 teams) also saw our boys come out of the gate a little slow. The Stars got up 1-0 in the 1st period and hit the crossbar twice in the first few minutes of the game. The boys settled down a little bit in the 2nd period and managed to tie the 2nd period 1-1 which had us trailing 2-1 going into the 3rd period. The coaches know what this team is capable of the first 2 periods were definitely not who these boys are. Luckily the boys found their groove in the 3 period and scored 4 straight goals (in 5 minutes to take a 5-2 lead) before Wasaga answered back with 1 more goal towards the end of the 3rd to make it a 5-3 final. Cal scored a really nice 1-timer goal off of a Roper won face-off. Gally chipped in with a couple of goals of his own and Prinsy managed to bang in his own rebound off a breakaway. Hopper showed the definition of what a good teammate is by playing defense and forward all game. It's tough to get into a grove when you skip shifts and keep getting tossed back and forth between forward and defense but Hopper did whatever it took for his team to win and he was rewarded for it by being selected our player of the game. We would also like to thank Ella Cruikshank who did a great job stepping up and helping us out on Saturday. She played a solid game, kept it simple, did a good job of stepping up in the neutral zone and fit right in with the rest of our team. Go Wolves !!!
