Week at a Glance
As last week's report stated, the Shelburne Atom Rep Wolves team was coming off three very difficult losses during the 2017 Silver Stick Regional's in Wingham, ON. A tournament in which the mighty, mighty wolves team played extremely hard, but unfortunately suffered three one goal defeats.

As frustrated as the entire team and their loyal fans were, Head Coach Luke Richardson used this moment to highlight the fact that sometimes, despite a gargantuan effort, a game may not go the way everyone wants it to, but as long as each player competes during every shift, then that is all that matters. These words, combined with the knowledge that as a team they've been steadily improving game by game this season, definitely inspired the Wolves as they headed into another busy week of Atom Rep hockey.

On Tuesday night...

The Wolves were back home to face a stubborn team from Creemore. With some hard skating and quick passing, the Wolves were able to take the win.
On Wednesday night...
The Wolves travelled north to Thornbury to face their old nemesis, the Georgian Shores Lightning. Over the past few seasons the Lightning have proven to be a tough team to beat. However, on this night the Wolves dominated and walked away with an 7-3 victory.
On Saturday....
With two wins already in the books, the Wolves again hit the road to face the Oro Thunder. Right from the puck drop it was obvious that Shelburne came ready to play. Shift after shift, the Wolves kept the pressure on and eventually skated to a lopsided victory.
On Sunday...
As much as coaches preach that each and every game is important, there are always certain games during the season that get circle on the calendar. Sunday's home game against the Owen Sound JR. Attack was one of those games. Having already lost the two previous meetings against Owen Sound this season, the Shelburne Wolves arrived at the Wolf Den with one thing in mind, REVENGE! From the moment the puck hit the cold, hard ice of the CDRC, the Wolves were in complete control. The shocked team from Owen Sound wasn't able to even register a shot until the mid-way point of the second period. After three challenging periods, the Wolves skated off the ice with a 7-0 victory and their heads held high. After the game, the entire team was elated as they congratulated Nate “Kinger” King on his first shutout of the season. We're sure that as Kinger went to sleep on Sunday evening, his cheeks most likely hurt from smiling.

With a difficult week of hockey behind them, the Shelburne Wolves look ahead to this weekend where they will be at home facing Collingwood on Friday evening, and then Stayner on Saturday morning. Both games will no doubt be exciting, and the Wolves will have to come ready to compete if they want to be successful.

Finally, don't forget about Shelburne Minor Hockey night this coming Saturday when the Shelburne Muskies face off against the Ripley Wolves at 8pm. Admission for the game will be free for all Wolves coaches, and all wolves players who are wearing their 'Wolves' apparel.
