Message from a Parent
This is heart warming letter the SMHA received from a parent about their players experience this year.....

We just finished our last playoff game of the year.  We lost 5-3 to end the series.  All three games in the series were amazing....all of them could have gone either way.

However, as a parent watching the games I was amazed by the way the kids interacted with each other and with their coaching staff. There is not one shining star; they collectively work together and as a result have grown so much as a team since they started in October.  I truly believe that each and every player on the team has improved because of the 4 incredible coaches they have had the privilege to work with this year.  Throughout the season they've not only taught the kids how to become better hockey players on the ice they also taught them what it means to be a team.

In a email I received recently from one of our players, he quoted a text he had received from Coach Tom "no matter what happens they are all champions in my heart".  When I was driving home from the game tonight with my son, my husband and I were telling him how proud we were of him.  He responded by saying "Coach Tom said we have all improved so much this year and because of that we are all champions".  That statement honestly brought me to tears.  He left the arena feeling proud of himself and the way he had played...what a great way to end the season.

I wanted to send you this email to let you know that we could not have asked for a better Minor Hockey experience for our son this year.  We feel like he has developed not only as a hockey player but as a person.  Tom Robbins, Johnathon Gerring, Rudy Pedri and Nolan Newhook have all done an outstanding job in our books.  These four coaches have represented your organization well, we can only hope they choose to do the same again next year.
